MESOPO draws its inspiration from the ancient name of Mesopotamia, 'بلاد الرافدين', which translates from Greek to 'between two rivers', referring to the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers. Situated in modern-day Iraq, these rivers ran in parallel, bestowing life and opportunities upon the people of Mesopotamia, known as the fertile crescent and the cradle of civilization.
